What Is Colocation?
 Basically, colocation allows you to place your server(s) and related equipment in someone else's rack and share their bandwidth as your own. Colocation generally costs more than standard Web hosting, but is often far less expensive than obtaining service for a comparable amount of bandwidth in your place of business (not to mention power, network administration, and other costs). While many large corporations have the Internet infrastructure to host their own web servers and have a team of IT professionals to manage and design the site, individuals and small companies do not, so colocation is often the alternative solution that works best in those situations.
